I sometime write for a place to store my own experiences for future search and read by own blog but can hopefully help others along the way. Thanks.

Perform Index Operations Online

Perform Index Operations Online

Here we will
1. Create a clustered index on the PRIMARY filegroup if the index does not exist
2 Verify filegroup location of the clustered index.
3 Create filegroup NewGroup if it does not exist.
4 Verify new filegroup
5.
-- Drop the clustered index and move the BillOfMaterials table to
-- the Newgroup filegroup. -- Set ONLINE = OFF to execute this example on editions other than Enterprise Edition.
6.
-- Verify filegroup location of the moved table.
